Description:Fluorescein-dipalmitoylphosphatidylethanolamine triethylammonium salt is a fluorescent probe that is used to measure glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) activity. It binds to the active site of GSH-Px and changes its fluorescence properties. Fluorescein-dipalmitoylphosphatidylethanolamine triethylammonium salt is also a ligand for the epidermal growth factor receptor, which leads to an increase in intracellular calcium levels. This probe has been shown to be effective as an antioxidant in wastewater treatment, and can be used as a model system for oxidative injury in vivo.
